Myron Rosander – Visual / Drill Design
From 1976 through 2005, Myron Rosander was a performer, instructor, Principal Visual Designer and Assistant Director for the Santa Clara Vanguard, spanning over 30 year’s of involvement with the SCV organization.  During that time, Myron was designer for 3 DCI Championship shows including 1989 (Phantom of the Opera), 1999 (Inventions for a New Millennium), and again with the Vanguard Cadets in 2013 (The Art of War). Rosander was also a performer with SCV (French Horn) which won the 1978 DCI Championships.

​In 2000, Mr. Rosander was the recipient of the prestigious “Gail Royer Memorial Vanguard of the Year” award, which is the highest honor one can receive within the SCV organization. And in 2014, Myron was honored and inducted into the “Santa Clara Vanguard Hall of Fame.”

Myron’s other DCI credits include visual design for the Phantom Regiment from Rockford, IL in 2010 (Into the Light). Also included are the Blue Stars from La Crosse, WI in 2012; Mandarins from Sacramento, CA in 2010 and 2011; Madison Scouts from Madison, WI in 2006 and the 2002 DCI World Finalist, Seattle Cascades from Seattle, WA. Myron has also designed for the highly respected DCA all-age corps, the Bushwackers from Harrison, NJ in 2003-04-05.

In 2005 and 2006, Rosander was Visual Designer for the LD Bell HS Marching Band from Hurst, TX. During those 2 years, LD Bell finished with the bronze and silver medals respectively at the BOA Grand Nationals Championships in Indianapolis, IN.  His other marching band design credits includes the current Hawaii State Champions, Maui High School from Kahului, HI and perennial California State Finalist, Oak Grove High School from San Jose, CA.  Past groups include The Kamehameha Schools from Honolulu HI; Bellbrook High School from Bellbrook, OH; Grants Pass HS from Grants Pass, OR; Union HS from Tulsa, OK; Dobyns-Bennett High School from Kingsport,TN … among several others.

​Rosander has served on the DCI Task Force and has been the author and subject matter for numerous teachers and publications, including Today’s Music Educator, Drum Corps World, DCI Today.  Myron has participated in clinics for several bands and winter guards throughout the United States for the past 25 years. Rosander is also a respected judge for Bands of America, adjudicating contests annually throughout the United States, as well as judging independently in the winter guard and winter percussion arena.

In other aspects of Myron’s life, he is an artist featuring oil paints with focus on impressionistic landscapes, as well as modern abstract concepts.  Currently, Myron resides in the San Francisco bay area.

Dylan Thompson – Visual / Marching Instructor
Dylan Thompson started his marching career in his sophomore year at North Salinas HS in Salinas, California. He Joined the Santa Clara Vanguard Cadet corps in 1991. After graduating high school in the summer of 1992, he began to teach marching and write drill for his alma mater. In 1993, he joined the Santa Clara Vanguard and aged out 1996. In 1997 he was given the opportunity to teach the Santa Clara Vanguard and did so until 2001. He also lived and worked in Southern California, working with several high school groups in that area. In 2001 he moved to Portland Oregon, where he continues to write drill, teach fall marching bands, and is the visual caption head for the independent world finalist OC Indoor percussion ensemble. He looks forward with excitement for the opportunity to work with the students and staff of Maui High School.
